Difference between Think and Thought in Chinese 认为/以为/想/觉得/感觉

Chinese Grammar:Difference between Think and Thought in Chinese 认为 ren wei/以为 yi wei/想 xiang/觉得jue de /感觉 ganjue with exercises and answers.

以为 yǐ wéi,  以为是,但实际上不是
认为 rèn wéi, suggests objective reflection and reasoning,in formal situation
想 xiǎng,  1)认为,给出观点和推理subjective, emotional,2)want to 3)to miss
觉得 jué dé/感觉 gǎn jué 1)feel  2)认为给出观点和推理 less for sure   3)感觉n.feeling

一、 verb以为yǐ wéi : 
you think something would happen,but it is not.

wǒ yǐwéi zhāng jīnglǐ bú huì lái le
I didn't think manager Zhang would come。[but actually he did.]

wǒ yǐwéi wǒ néng yíng.
I thought I would win(If someone says like this, it actually means he or she has lost the game. )

二、 verb 认为rèn wéi :
给出客观反映和推理suggests objective reflection and reasoning。usually be used in written language or formal situation like lecture or academic discussion

wǒ rènwéi zhè ge guāndiǎn shì zhèngquè de。
I think this point of view is correct.

三、 verb 想xiǎng :in common use

1.similar to 认为rèn wéi ,but it‘s less formal and less for sure and more 主观subjective and emotional带有情感的.it can be used in both spoken language and written language,especially spoken language.

wǒ xiǎng nǐ shì duìde 。
I think you are right.

2.want,would like to
wǒ xiǎng kàn diànshì 。
I want to watch TV.
